Major Moscow's Attacks Eliminate Electricity Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have come under increased strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while residents in the city's east were experienced blackouts and dealt with interruptions to water supplies, per reports from local authorities.

Meanwhile, a minor was fatally injured in a different aerial attack in the southeastern region in the southern area, as reported by area administrators.

Russian forces has increased strikes on energy facilities over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "concrete actions" from allies to exert influence on Moscow.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the US, European nations and the G7 - in delivering defensive weapons and applying penalties," was stated in a public message.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen projectiles attacked energy facilities, labeling such strikes as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were working to restore power.

A wave of strikes hit electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, according to local officials.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region endured intense attacks throughout the evening. A minor lost their life and multiple civilians were wounded.

The assaults succeed nights of air raids in the territory, parts of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The entire country is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to detect.

Authorities told the media that Moscow was intentionally trying to damage the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

He said energy workers and officials were anticipating further attacks.
